The Los Angeles Planned Parenthood Guild, a nonprofit volunteer organization dedicated to providing reproductive health care and education, will present its annual gala gourmet event, Fantasy Food Fare 1989, at the Riviera Country Club, 1250 Capri Drive, Pacific Palisades, Feb. 9.

Participants include some of the city’s best chefs and restaurateurs, boutique owners, party planners, caterers, florists, food specialists, wineries, table setting designers and entertainers.

Daytime festivities take place from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and include a marketplace, an unusual collection of food and gift items for the home. Some of the unique food items that guests can purchase include guava jellies, jams, sauces, dessert breads, cookies and chutneys. A raffle, food and wine tastings and a silent auction, in which participants bid on such items as antique jewelry and restaurant gift certificates, also will be held.

Music and entertainment will be provided by Bruce Campbell Music, Inc.; Casanova Robots, the Party Machines; caricaturist Kris Vincencio; the Good Gypsy: Ziguener Verdad; and Zavier.

All proceeds from the food fare, the raffle and the silent auction, and 25% of all other sales, will benefit Planned Parenthood.
