Beverly Enterprises Inc. said it lost $11.6 million in its fourth quarter, an improvement over a $22.4-million loss a year ago. Revenue edged up 2% to $510.3 million. For the year, the Pasadena-based company, which operates nursing facilities, pharmacies, retirement centers and home health center agencies, lost $23.9 million, down from a $30.5-million loss in 1987. The figures reflect restructuring charges of more than $14.5 million in the fourth quarter and $27 million for the whole year, resulting from the sale of nursing facilities, and discounts, fees and expenses from the sale of certain notes receivable.
