State Supt. of Public Instruction Bill Honig unveiled a health education program to be implemented next fall in California’s public schools. The “Healthy Kids, Healthy California” plan is a comprehensive approach to nutrition, fitness and health education programs in the schools, and will include educational material concerning AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases, teen-age pregnancy, suicide, eating disorders and drug, alcohol and tobacco abuse.
