THE AMAZING WEALTH of contemporary American fiber art is showcased in this third collection selected by the editors of Fiberarts magazine. It’s a bit overwhelming and intimidating, a virtual catalogue of tapestry, wearable art, basketry, quilting--dazzling stuff. The layout and design could be improved, as there are too many black-and-white photos, and many pieces are shown in too-small photos that don’t do justice to the scope of the art. Still, there is so much here to admire: hours of pleasure guaranteed. ($24.95)
