Local News in Brief : Ontario’s Request to Buy Airport Refused

Los Angeles airport commissioners ruled Wednesday that Los Angeles should continue to operate Ontario’s international airport despite a request by Ontario to buy back the facility.
“I think they felt the timing was just inappropriate,” said Lee Nichols, spokesman for the Los Angeles Department of Airports. “There are a number of significant things coming down the pike.” The department is updating an environmental impact study of the Ontario airport and reviewing the department’s entire financial operations, Nichols said.
