Pianist Bryan Pezzone is recovering at home from knife wounds sustained by an assailant he had admitted into his Pomona home to use the telephone. Pezzone’s wife, Susan, said the pianist seems to have the use of his hands, though doctors said he may sustain nerve damage to one finger. Pezzone has been on the faculty at CalArts in Valencia for two years. The male assailant used the telephone and accepted a glass of water, then stabbed Pezzone several times without warning and fled.
