U. S. Indicts 22 on Narcotics, Weapons Charges

U. S. Atty. William Braniff disclosed on Thursday an indictment charging 22 people, believed to be part of a rock cocaine distribution network in Southeast San Diego, with various narcotics and firearm offenses.

The indictment names Robert James Moore, 30, as the leader of the group that has dealt substantial quantities of rock cocaine in Southeast and East San Diego. The indictment also charges Moore’s organization in connection with drive-by shootings in those communities to enforce its control.

The announcement came after a one-year investigation conducted by the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force and the San Diego County Integrated Narcotics Task Force.

The 24-count indictment includes offenses of engaging in a continuing criminal enterprise, conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute cocaine base, use and carrying of a firearm in relation to a drug trafficking charge and possession of firearms by felons.

Besides Moore, the indictment names: Rachel Carter Wofford, 24; Larry Daniel, 29; Charles Steel, 26; Delano Jones, 25; Levi Keith Jones, 26; Anthony Houghton, 19; Jeanette Allbritten, 58; Clifton Allbritten, 56; Elliott Jones, 21; Raychell Carter Wofford, 19; Raymond Wofford, 51; Steven Bowden, 20; David Spears, 20; Brady Wright, 26; Donald Carter, 32; David Gonzalez, 18; Dory Laramore, 20; Kekona McKinley, 20; Bruce Turner, 22; Michael Portley, 27; and Lamont Bowen, 19.
