A dramatization of the life of the co-founder of Alcoholics Anonymous will feature the reteaming of James Garner and James Woods, who won acclaim for their portrayal of brothers in the TV movie “Promise.” Like that film, this one will be presented under the “Hallmark Hall of Fame” banner. To be broadcast on ABC, “My Name is Bill W.” features Woods as Bill Wilson and Garner as Dr. Bob Smith. JoBeth Williams plays Woods’ wife.

Lindsay Wagner, the former star of “The Bionic Woman,” plays a woman who could use some bionic powers in “From the Dead of Night,” a four-hour movie that NBC plans to broadcast Feb. 27-28. It’s about a fashion designer who is being pursued by six “beings” from “the other side.” Also in the cast are Bruce Boxleitner, Diahann Carroll, Robin Thomas and Robert Prosky.

ABC has set Feb. 19 and 21 as the telecast dates for “Passion and Paradise,” a new TV drama about murder in the Bahamas. Rod Steiger plays the victim, a millionaire. Mariette Hartley portrays his wife, Catherine Mary Stewart plays their daughter and Armand Assante plays the daughter’s romantic interest. Wayne Rogers co-stars as the detective who investigates the case.

Andrea Martin and Martin Short, who used to work together on the “SCTV” series, will team anew in a special that Martin is making for Showtime. Called “Andrea Martin: Together Again,” the show will be taped in Toronto and telecast sometime this spring.

John Sayles, who wrote and directed the film “Eight Men Out,” has written a pilot movie for NBC called “Shannon’s Deal.” It stars Jamey Sheridan as “a gritty Philadelphia lawyer who tries to make justice happen where often there has been none.” Also on hand are Elizabeth Pena, Eddie Velez, Jenny Lewis and Miguel Ferrer.

Debbie Reynolds will play what NBC describes as a fading movie star in “Perry Mason: The Case of the Final Curtain.” Reynolds’ character is appearing in a musical when the show’s director is killed. Joining Raymond Burr and Barbara Hale in the cast are Alexandra Paul and William R. Moses.
