New York executives of the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists are scheduled on Wednesday to consider contract proposals from CBS, NBC and ABC that were studied last week by union officials in Chicago and Los Angeles. Their approval could set the stage for a ratification vote on 3-year contract offers from the networks. A total of 37 proposed contracts are involved, covering live and taped news, sports and entertainment programs. Talks began Oct. 3 on the proposed contracts, which would succeed pacts that expired Nov. 16. They don’t affect prime-time entertainment shows covered by a separate AFTRA pact that ends in July.
