Local News in Brief : San Juan Capistrano : Motorist Hits Pole, Knocking Out Power

Approximately 1,400 customers of San Diego Gas & Electric Co. lost power temporarily Monday after a motorist drove a car into a transmission pole, toppling electric lines.
There was a report of one person injured in the 10:44 a.m. accident, which occurred on Camino Capistrano, south of San Juan Creek Road. Further details could not be obtained from California Highway Patrol officials in San Juan Capistrano.
Power was restored to half the customers within 30 minutes of the accident, and the other half had power by 1 p.m., SDG&E; spokeswoman Karen Duncan said.
