Givens Blames Promoter for Tyson Breakup
Actress Robin Givens blamed the breakup of her marriage to heavyweight champion Mike Tyson on boxing promoter Don King in an interview published today, one day after Tyson was granted a divorce.
In an interview with in the British Woman’s Own magazine, Givens said she and Tyson still love each other despite the divorce and a tumultuous one-year marriage, and said King’s relationship with Tyson had ruined the marriage.
“I really don’t want to be in the same roomn as him (King) or to be photographed with him or have anything to do with him,” Givens said. “So, because I feel that way about him, it makes our relationship impossible.
“The problem is that Michael and I are very similar--we’re both fighters.”
Givens also predicted that Frank Bruno “will be killed” in his Feb. 25 fight against Tyson in Las Vegas.
