Bob Uecker, a broadcaster for the Milwaukee Brewers and one of the stars of the television series, “Mr. Belvedere,” was resting comfortably Wednesday after suffering what his agent called “a very mild heart attack.”

“He’ll be returning to work after about four weeks’ rest,” said Deborah Miller, Uecker’s agent. “The doctors said he’s in extremely good physical shape so the prognosis is excellent.”

According to Miller, Uecker suffered the attack Tuesday morning at his Los Angeles-area residence. Paramedics took him to a hospital.

Uecker, 54, who also maintains a home in Menomonee Falls, Wis., recently finished filming of a feature-length film entitled “Major Leagues,” with Tom Berringer and Charlie Sheen, Miller said.

Uecker was a reserve catcher for the Milwaukee Braves, the St. Louis Cardinals and Philadelphia Phillies during the 1960s.

He has been a frequent guest on talk shows, and has appeared on “The Tonight Show” nearly 100 times.
