Reaction to Down’s Fetus Horrifies Mother

Share

I cannot believe the conclusion Susan Hodge came to regarding her amniocentesis and second trimester abortion because of Down’s syndrome. The tension and anxiety produced by the amniocentesis and wait for its results was unavoidable and severe. What Hodge, in retrospect, is upset about is that she denied the bonding and enjoyment of the pregnancy experience because she didn’t know its outcome.

What is the moral of all this? Will someone please tell me how this fear and tension affects the children who are not “terminated.” This article is certainly an eye-opener to the downside of prenatal testing. To me the article is a very scary look at what modern day technology is doing to motherhood.
