Lufthansa German Airlines has signed a contract to purchase as many as 30 commercial aircraft from Airbus Industrie in a deal estimated to be worth as much as $3 billion, Airbus officials announced. Lufthansa has agreed to purchase 15 Airbus A340 aircraft, which are to be delivered between September, 1992, and March, 1994.
