MEXICO CITY —
The attorney general’s office said it has launched an investigation into Mexican companies suspected of laundering drug money, according to a published report Saturday.
El Universal quoted Javier Coello Trejo, assistant attorney general, as saying that he was seeking changes in the criminal code to stiffen penalties for drug traffickers.
