“Empty Nest” plays to a full house every week on NBC.

Nestled between “The Golden Girls” and “Hunter” on Saturdays at 9:30 p.m., the first-year comedy is a winner in the ratings, consistently landing among prime time’s Top 10 shows.

Richard Mulligan--surrounded on the cover by co-stars David Leisure, Kristy McNichol, Dinah Manoff, Park Overall and the dog Bear--plays Miami pediatrician Harry Weston. When he’s not treating his young patients, Harry copes with life as a widower and his two protective daughters (McNichol and Manoff).

Harry has yet to find a new mate, but lonely he’s not. The show’s writers are seeing to it that those daughters aren’t the only women in his life . . .
