Marine Killed When Car Rolls in Oceanside

A 25-year-old Marine was killed Friday afternoon after he lost control of his car on North River Road in Oceanside, police said.
An initial investigation by the Oceanside Police Department indicated that the man was driving west when he lost control of the car, which ran off the road and overturned.
The driver was thrown from the car as it rolled, and the vehicle landed on top of him. He was pronounced dead at the scene. There were no passengers.
The investigation was continuing Friday night, and the victim’s name was being withheld pending notification of relatives.
