The leader of the Irish Northern Aid group in San Francisco has been elected grand marshal of the city’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade, angering Irish government officials. Consul-General Brian Nason has refused to attend the March 12 parade if INA leader and reputed supporter of the outlawed Irish Republican Army Dan McCormick is grand marshal. “It would be like going to a party with the IRA,” Nason said.
