Actress Audrey Hepburn, a good will ambassador for UNICEF, said Wednesday that Latin American countries should spend money on children instead of weapons. Hepburn, speaking at a news conference in Geneva, also called on the United States to increase its contributions to UNICEF, the United Nations Children’s Emergency Fund. Some 60% of the people of Latin America live below the poverty line and half are illiterate, Hepburn said.
