Arcadia : 4 Vie for School Board Seats
Four people have announced plans to run for two school board seats in the Arcadia Unified School District, a district spokeswoman said Wednesday.
Candidates in the April 18 election are incumbent Mary Dougherty, Joann Steinmeier, Larry Lewis and Timothy Westlin.
They are vying for two seats that will become vacant when the terms of board members Dougherty and William Spuck expire June 30.
Dougherty, a civic volunteer, is seeking reelection to a second four-year term. Spuck, a manager of information systems at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, has decided not to run because of professional demands.
Steinmeier is president of the Arcadia PTA council. Lewis is a Pasadena psychotherapist, and Westlin is a life insurance agent.
