The World Boxing Assn. stripped its middleweight championship from Sumbu Kalambay, saying he failed to defend his title against other top-ranked boxers. Kalambay “infringed on the statutes and the regulations” of the association by not fighting one of the two other top-ranked middleweights in the past nine months, WBA President Elias Cordova said.
