Women’s Basketball : Nelson Scores 44 to Lead USC

Senior center Cherie Nelson scored a career-high 44 points to lead USC to an 86-68 victory over Oregon State Friday night in a Pacific 10 Conference game at USC.
Nelson made 14 of 19 shots from the field and 16 of 18 free throws before leaving with 4:33 to play. USC is 11-14 overall and 7-8 in the Pac-10. The Beavers are 13-13 and 7-9.
Oregon 76, UCLA 60--Trina McCartney scored 23 points and Stephanie Kasperski added 21 to lead the Ducks (18-9, 10-6) to the easy victory over the Bruins (11-14, 7-8) at the John Wooden Center.
