A car dealership in Ventura, Gold Coast Acura, was a merit award winner in the first awards program held in a decade by the Ventura County chapter of the American Institute of Architects.

“I particularly enjoyed the fact that one of the winners was a car dealership because, as Southern Californians, we are married to our vehicles,” said James H. Azbell, chapter president.

In addition to the dealership designed by Rasmussen & Associates, Ventura, the winners included: Thompson Plaza Retail Center, Ventura, honor award for Rasmussen & Associates; Templeman Educational Center, Port Hueneme, honor award for Schott Ellinwood & Associates, Ventura; private residence in Ojai, merit award for M & V Architects, Texas; Cabrillo Village farm workers housing, Saticoy, merit award for John V. Mutlow, Los Angeles, and Oak Grove Secondary School, Ojai, merit award for Zelma Wilson, Ojai.
