Larry D. Strutton Named Baltimore Sun President

Larry D. Strutton, executive vice president-operations for the Los Angeles Times, has been appointed president of the Baltimore Sun newspaper, effective April 1.

In his new post, Strutton, 48, will be responsible for all business, financial and operational segments of the Baltimore Sun. He will report to Reg Murphy, publisher and chief executive of the newspaper.

Both The Times and the Sun are owned by Times Mirror Co.

Strutton joined The Times in 1983 as vice president-operations and was promoted to his current position in 1986. He had previously served as executive vice president for the Detroit Free Press and production director of the Rocky Mountain News in Denver.
