Local News in Brief : Lost VA Checks Found and Delivered
Many of the 3,200 Veterans Administration pension and benefit checks that failed to reach veterans in several areas of Los Angeles have been found and were to be delivered Wednesday or today, a Postal Service spokesman said.
It remained unclear whether the VA or the Postal Service misplaced the March 1 checks, spokesman David Mazer said.
A VA spokesman said the foul-up affected people in 13 Zip Codes, most of them in Central and East Los Angeles.
