Dinner Guests Taken to Theater by Bushes
WASHINGTON — President Bush and his wife, Barbara, invited six friends to the White House for dinner Wednesday night and then whisked them to the Kennedy Center to see the comedy “Steel Magnolias.”
The Bushes’ guests, all longtime friends, were Mr. and Mrs. Fitzgerald Bemiss of Richmond, Va., Mr. and Mrs. Walter Ganzi Jr. of Washington and Dr. and Mrs. Tabb Moore, also of Washington. The play, written by Robert Harling, is a portrait of six Southern women whose lives intersect in a small town beauty shop. It stars June Lockhart, Barbara Rush and Carole Cook.
