Illinois Official Chosen Education Undersecretary

WASHINGTON —
President Bush has chosen Illinois Education Supt. Ted Sanders for the No. 2 job in the U.S. Department of Education, Sen. Paul Simon’s office said Friday.
Simon (D-Ill.) was notified that Bush selected Sanders as the department’s undersecretary, and that Nancy Kennedy, who has worked in the Reagan White House, was chosen as assistant secretary for legislation, said David Carle, Simon’s press secretary.
