From staff reports

Project Restore, an organization formed by Mayor Tom Bradley and others with the goal of preserving the fabric of Los Angeles, has been awarded a $250,000-grant by the Ahmanson Foundation to be used in the restoration of the Los Angeles City Hall Main Street lobby.

The lobby project--the first of Project Restore’s renovation efforts--is expected to cost between $1.1 and $1.5 million and is expected to begin early next year, under the direction of the architectural firm of Hardy, Holzman & Pfeiffer. Albert C. Martin, son of the original City Hall architect, serves as chairman of the 22-member Project Restore board of directors.
