Marina del Rey : Marina Rate Hikes Sought

Share

The Los Angeles County Department of Beaches and Harbors is proposing rate increases for several Marina del Rey facilities that would produce an additional $51,400 in revenues.

The proposals, endorsed by the county Small Craft Harbor Commission, are the result of an annual review of rates designed to assure that the fees are competitive with other marinas, according to Stan Wisniewski, the department’s deputy director.

The proposals are expected to go before the County Board of Supervisors within 30 days.

The department is proposing increasing summer parking rates at four county lots from $4 to $5; metered parking rates at Burton Chace Park and north jetty view piers from 25 cents an hour to 50 cents an hour; dinghy storage from $72 to $96 a year; mast-up dry storage from $2.75 per foot to $3.25 per foot a month; and transient boat docks from 40 cents per foot a day in winter to a year-round rate of 50 cents per foot a day, the current summer rate.
