Advertising Pulled: The American Family Assn., a major Christian group based in Tupelo, Miss., that is trying to mobilize viewers against TV programs it finds morally offensive, said two big advertisers have canceled support for the program “Saturday Night Live” following the organization’s complaints about two episodes. One of the companies, Ralston Purina Co., confirmed that it had dropped plans to run about $1 million in ads on the program later this year because it felt one of the shows “crossed over the line of good taste.” The other advertiser, General Mills Inc., said it had canceled commercials after reviewing another of the shows.
