Gang members lobbed a Molotov cocktail into a South Los Angeles house early Friday, injuring three people, authorities said.
A woman in her 50s and a young man and woman escaped with minor smoke inhalation in the attack, which occurred about 1 a.m. when a carload of suspected gang members threw the device through the window of a house in the 5400 block of 2nd Avenue, police and fire officials said.
The suspects had first sprayed the house with gunfire before tossing the fire bomb, Sgt. Ed Wilson said. A resulting fire caused about $29,000 in damage to the house, City Fire spokesman Jim Wells said.
No arrests were made, and the exact motivation in the attack was not known.
