Local News in Brief : Countywide : Car in Hit-and-Run That Killed Boy Is Found
The car that struck and killed a 7-year-old Anaheim boy last weekend outside his family’s apartment near Disneyland was found Friday in Fountain Valley, authorities said.
Victor Magana was killed Saturday when a man who appeared to be drunk raced from the scene of a brawl in a Chevrolet Nova and hit him in an alley near the apartment on South Jeffrey Drive.
The driver did not stop, and Victor died an hour later at a nearby hospital.
Anaheim police said Friday that the abandoned 1970 Nova with the license plate 322 ADX was spotted Friday afternoon by a Westminster patrol officer on Los Flores Street in Fountain Valley.
Authorities said the registered owner of the car told police that he had recently sold the car to someone he didn’t know.
Police said they still had no suspects in the case but were checking new leads after finding the car.
