Disneyland’s Skyway aerial buckets that traverse the amusement park 50 feet above the ground remained out of operation while work crews repaired a mechanical failure caused by some mischievous guests. The ride that takes guests from Tomorrowland to Fantasyland and back was under repair for a malfunctioning guiding mechanism that broke down over the weekend when some passengers began rocking one of the bucket-style gondolas, park spokesman John McClintock said. The rocking caused the ride to automatically shut down and about 150 riders had to be individually removed via fire ladders from dozens of the suspended four-seat buckets over a five-hour period. There were no injuries. McClintock said the ride should be operating by today. Disneyland officials said several guests who were in the rocking gondola were questioned, but it had not been decided whether any legal action would be taken.
