The team owners of Major League Volleyball have voted to suspend operations.
The rest of the matches scheduled for the 1989 season will not be played, but the owners are investigating methods to restructure the league for 1990 with San Jose, Portland, Ore., and Minnesota as lead franchises.
Immediate cash-flow problems were cited by the owners as the reason for suspension of play. Although there is not enough cash to continue the season, the league announced, there is enough to pay outstanding bills.
