Four suspects were arrested in the slaying of a man who was attacked after he withdrew money from an automatic teller machine in Northridge, and police said Thursday the foursome were believed to be involved in a series of such armed robberies.
One of the suspects, Elisaia Reupena, 26, was arrested late Wednesday at a Torrance hospital where he was being treated for gunshot wounds.
Aslam Hasham, 29, of Canoga Park, was shot to death at 8:45 p.m. Tuesday in the Coast Savings parking lot across from the Northridge Fashion Center.
The other three suspects, Stephan Rice and Marty Mares, both 20, and a 17-year-old boy, were arrested Thursday at their homes in Granada Hills, police said. The four were described as longtime friends.
“It is believed these four suspects were responsible for a number of ATM robberies throughout the San Fernando Valley,” said Lt. Harvie Eubank.
