Baseball officials have reconsidered plans to sell its official statistics to a Las Vegas computer firm that reportedly provides information to gamblers, a spokesman for the commissioner’s office said.
Ed Durso, senior vice president for major league baseball, issued a statement in which he said advertisements by Computer Sports World offering the statistics with baseball’s blessings were premature.
“Negotiations between major league baseball and Computer Sports World were not concluded,” Durso said. “We have determined not to move forward.”
