Cocaine Lab Blown Up by Police in Colombia
Police blew up one of the biggest cocaine-processing labs ever found in Colombia during a drug operation in which officers have destroyed 40 labs, a narcotics police spokesman said Monday.
“El Paraiso was one of the biggest labs the police ever found,” the spokesman said, referring to the Paraiso or Paradise Ranch on the banks of the River Iteviare in eastern Guaviare province.
Police dynamited 8,800 pounds of coca paste Saturday and found escape tunnels, a solar energy system, a light plane and microwave ovens used to process cocaine at the El Paraiso lab.
