Child molestation charges were filed against a female group home counselor who investigators said initiated sex with several teen-age boys at the Fresno home. Police began the investigation earlier this month when Cathy Hernandez, 31, reported she was raped by four of the high school and junior high school students in the home. After interviewing the youths individually, police asked the district attorney’s office to file charges against Hernandez. They said the boys gave essentially the same story--that they participated in and witnessed sexual acts with Hernandez in the home, and that Hernandez was a willing participant and encouraged the acts.
