Knapp Communications Corp., Los Angeles, has named Evelyn Carlson senior vice president and chief operating officer. Carlson previously was director of operations and vice president of Architectural Digest Publishing Corp. Knapp Communications is the parent company of the publishers of Architectural Digest, Bon Appetit and other magazines and Knapp Press books.
