Holden Asks Probe of Bradley Bank Ties

Mayoral candidate Nate Holden on Wednesday called for an investigation of Mayor Tom Bradley’s role as an adviser to Far East National Bank to determine if it violates the City Charter’s requirement for a “full-time” mayor.

In a motion filed with the City Council and seconded by council President John Ferraro, the city attorney is also requested to determine if the mayor violated the city’s code of ethics.

Bradley resigned as an advisory director of the bank and last week returned $18,000 that he had been paid for one year of service.

Bradley said he returned the funds after discovering that the bank had accepted $1 million in city deposits and was about to receive an additional $1 million.
