Operation Rescue
As we have been in the field of family planning for the past 13 years, we already knew the silent majority here in Southern California favored decision-making in the very private area of problem pregnancy being up to the individuals involved. However, it was absolutely astounding to see how many actually were willing to put themselves where the action was and help defend this very basic right of women in our society to control their own bodies.
We would like to personally thank the hundreds of volunteers who organized themselves remarkably last week to counter Randall Terry and his Operation Rescue. We had more than 100 men and women show up at our facility alone over the 3-day period at 5:30 each morning to protect us, if necessary, from this unlawful violation of our rights and the rights of our patients.
Additionally, we would like to commend the Tustin Police Department. Their determination to uphold the injunction that made the method of protesting by Operation Rescue unlawful, and their personal concern for us and the safety of our patients, was greatly appreciated.
