Pair of robberies: Two Orange County branches of the Bank of America were held up Wednesday with the robbers in both incidents escaping on foot, authorities said. At 11:15 a.m., the branch at Brookhurst Street and Slater Avenue in Fountain Valley was robbed of an unknown amount of money when a man presented a note to the teller stating he had a gun, according to Fountain Valley police. The robber was described as a white man in his 20s, with a medium build and short blond hair. An hour later, another bank branch in the 1800 block of West Orangethorpe Avenue in Fullerton was robbed of an unknown amount of cash by two men, Fullerton Police Sgt. Jeff Roop said.
