The United States and Italy signed an agreement to increase their cooperation against organized crime, drug trafficking and terrorism. The agreement was signed by Atty. Gen. Dick Thornburgh and Italian Interior Minister Antonio Gava at the end of a four-day meeting in Washington of law enforcement officials. The text of the agreement was not made public, but Italian officials told reporters that it calls for improved exchanges of information between the two countries.
