Cuban Dissidents Urge Political Prisoner Amnesty

HAVANA —
Cuban human rights activists Wednesday called for a general amnesty for all political prisoners held in Cuba.
Elizardo Sanchez Santa Cruz, head of the Cuban Commission of Human Rights and National Reconciliation, said there are at least “between 700 and 800 political prisoners currently held in Cuban jails.” The government says Cuba has no political prisoners.
