Alan Christian Finishes First at OC Speedway

Alan Christian of Murrieta won the four-lap scratch main event Friday in front of 3,100 in the weekly speedway program at the Orange County Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa.

Christian took the lead on the second lap. Mike Faria of Riverside was second, Phil Collins of Newport Beach third and Bobby Schwartz of Costa Mesa fourth.

Steve Lucero of Riverside won the eight-lap handicap main event. Christian was second, Billy Hammil of Monrovia was third and Scott Brown of Hesperia fourth. Greg Hancock of Costa Mesa was fifth.

Collins defeated Gary Hicks of Glen Avon in the featured match race.

Dave Stanford of England won the second division main and Bob Richard of Colorado won the third division main.
