2nd Bag of $758,000 Found in Japan Thicket
From Associated Press
TOKYO —
A man gathering bamboo shoots stumbled onto a bag with $758,000 in cash Sunday in the same thicket where a similar find was made five days earlier, authorities said.
Officials still aren’t sure how the two bags with identical amounts of cash ended up in the bamboo thicket 35 feet off a road in Kawasaki, southwest of Tokyo. Police suggested earlier that the first bag may have come from a crime.
