From Associated Press
RENNES, France —
Livia Copariu, a 16-year-old Romanian who swam in a weekend competition here, has been reported missing, police said today.
Her disappearance was reported by the leader of her team just before they left their hotel at 5 a.m. by bus to catch a plane out of Paris for Bucharest, police told the French news agency Agence France-Presse. Police said they were not excluding the possibility that the swimmer left her teammates with the intention of seeking political asylum.
