Radio talk show hosts around the country are asking listeners to boycott Exxon products to protest the way the company has handled the Alaskan oil spill. Mike Siegel of KING-AM in Seattle reports receiving more than 1,000 letters with cut-up Exxon credit cards. At Exxon, a spokesman responded that “we share our customers’ concern for the environment and sincerely hope they will continue to support us.” He said a boycott of Exxon service stations would unfairly harm many private dealers. Earlier this year, Siegel and other radio hosts organized a letter-writing campaign to protest the proposed 51% pay raise for members of Congress.
