Fox Broadcasting’s “Cops” series is going to the Soviet Union to ride along with police in Moscow and Leningrad. “Cops,” which regularly follows the work of sheriffs in Broward County, Fla., will watch as Soviet police deal with airport security, drug smuggling, prostitution, homicide, rape, burglaries, domestic fights and missing persons. The filming will take place April 27-May 14, and there are no restrictions beyond those involving the safety of officers and crew. The Soviet government will not review the footage, but officials have asked to see a planned one-hour special before it is broadcast in July. “Cops” airs Saturday nights on KTTV and other Fox owned/operated stations.
