Perkin-Elmer to Sell a Business: Perkin-Elmer Corp. announced it intends to sell its business of making equipment for semiconductor manufacturers, which has been marginally profitable and has lost world market share. Perkin-Elmer said it also would sell its West German aerospace unit and its government systems unit and distribute the proceeds among shareholders through increased dividends or stock repurchase plans.
